Due to quite high demand, we are going to put on a second bus for this sundays event! Normally we will only be running one, but as it’s the NPS at the track the following week, and it’s been so dry, the demand seems to be there, and we don’t want to disappoint!

Entries for the uplift days are now open for the 12th and 20th. Entry’s are selling quite fast and are limited to 100 so please don’t hesitate to enter. The track Is the newly updated Rheola track, and will feature the new end section built for the NPS in september.

If you are a Member, Enter your name in the box for a reduction. It’s only small to start but will increase when we have a few events under our belt. Your name should be entered without a space… ie, I would be enter [JamesTennant] … if you have any problems, e mail me, it is possible that yoru name isn’t on the list. Anyone caught abusing this system will have a one year ban and we will be checking.

There will be uplift days at Rheola on the 12th and 20th of September. We should have online payments up and running in a few days.  We will then update the website with the price and times. Discounts will be given to WDMBA members.

JT has asked me to let everyone now there will be a dig day at Rheola Sunday 26th of July. As it stands, the forestry commission have given us a list of changes that need doing to make the track safe and insurable. This must happen before any events can take place. JT has worked hard developing a solid relationship with the new MTB forestry officer, as a result the forestry commission are in support of future events.

We obviously jumped the gun attempting to launch events too soon, without putting in the ground work, which was to build new relationships with the forestry commission. This work has gone unseen, but hopefully it will bare fruit soon.

JT also said he will be up Rheola Wednesday and Thursday, however you should contact him at jt_sw81@hotmail.com, to make arrangements. He is out of the country at the moment, I think he is back Tuesday.

We believe we have a solution the the uplift situation, however this will not be announced until we are 100% sure that it is viable and under contract with service providers. If anyone has experience with writing contracts get in touch.

There are currently no Commissaires for downhill events in Wales. So the WDMBA and Welsh Cycling are looking for anyone who might be interested in becoming one. Commissaires are crucial to the future of the sport as you can’t run a race without one! I will but undergoing the training in the near future and I’m hoping there will be other interested people. 

If you would like to come on the course, get your name to me on jt@wdmba.co.uk as soon as possible and I’ll get WCU to set it up.

Apparently the drops at the top of the Cwmcarn Freeride area have been removed! If they haven’t then they will be soon! This is because frankly they are a bit unsafe, you can’t tell me you haven’t been there on a really windy day and almost got blown of course? The safety record there is slipping and the FC do not want or need this!

There has been talk (and I have this on good authority) that there is due to be development at the Cwmcarn site… watch this space for more info! … And don’t panic, the FC really aren’t cutting the site back!

I have just submitted an entry for the Cwmcarn cup which with either be the 12, 13, 14 June and also for a Kilvey Short course on Aug 9th. 

We are also looking for options to continue racing at the former Dragons tracks, I personally really want Rheola to be back as a venue asap. 

MIJ events are going to be running the Welsh Champs this year at Caersws (date tbc) and the 3rd round at Taff buggy  will be on May 23 and 24. Check out their  website    for more info!!

I have heard that there are to be more events at Wentwood, But I’ll post more info when I have it!
